How to get a place at Santosh
How do I get a place at Santosh?
A place at our centre costs around £40 a day – note that our prices vary depending on your location and needs. This price includes your transport to and from the centre, a range activities at the centre and our delicious Indian food, tailored to your needs and varied every day. Most of our service users receive financial help from Social Services to help pay for their day care costs in the form of a ‘personal budget’. But many of our day centre users top-up their ‘personal budget’ to attend more days.
To find out if you are eligible for social care you can request an assessment from your social care team. You can also get support from The Carers Centre to help you understand this process so that you have the best chances of good outcomes. It is a good idea to take an expert or advocate with you when you meet with a Social Worker so that you can describe your needs well.
An advocate is someone who helps you speak up for yourself. There are a range of organisations that can help you speak up for yourself including Santosh Community Centre. Here is a list of organisations that provide advocacy.
